Title
Victory Garden Handbook: A Guide for Victory Gardeners in New York and Neighboring States
Subject
Victory Garden Handbook
Description
Victory garden handbook and advice manual informing and advising the home front population on how to grow a proper victory garden.
Local governments provided manuals to instruct the home front population on the proper and best way to grow a garden. Essentially, it was believed, that if an individual followed what the handbook said, they would have a successful garden. The information included in theses handbooks encompassed everything from the best type of soil to plant in to combating bugs and fungus that might attack the plants. These handbooks represent a less traditional form of propaganda to encourage the home front to grow victory gardens.
