Title
War Gardens For Victory: Grow Vitamins At Your Kitchen Door
Subject
Victory Garden Poster
Description
A girl holding a basket of vegetables and a hoe. Even though growing a victory garden actually required labor intensive work, propaganda posters emphasized the ease of having fresh vegetables, full of vitamins, in close proximity. The home front population could have fresh vegetables in their back yard, instead of having to fight over food at the grocery store, or waste gasoline by having produce transported from the farm to the store. Home front families could walk out to their garden and pick vegetables at the peak of freshness.
