Description
A pile of vegetables in the foreground, garden being tended by a man and a woman. Propaganda posters held an emotional appeal. Their bright colors and catch slogans were used to convince the home front population that it was not only their patriotic duty to participated in growing their own food, but necessary in order to win the war. For Franklin Roosevelt, food supply was a very important issue, and he believed that the whole population should take part in helping it grow.
